This one-day intensive workshop provides hands-on practice and coaching in applying CBSM skills to real-world topics. The format mirrors the process of designing a CBSM initiative, with participants stepping into the role of program designers. Working through a scenario where data is revealed incrementally, teams will use survey results, observations, and contextual information to make strategic decisions and build a CBSM strategy step by step. Using the data provided, participants will work in teams to select behaviors, analyze barriers and benefits, develop strategies, and design a pilot using tools such as convenience, social norms, prompts, and commitments. The workshop emphasizes critical thinking, iteration, and practical application, equipping participants with a deeper, experience-based understanding of how to translate the CBSM framework into effective, scalable programs. The session concludes with a discussion on applying these principles to participants’ own initiatives. The Practical Applications workshop is limited to 24 participants.
